Move it Forward
Stichting SAMAH and Stichting Lifegoals Netherlands together developed a training program for former single refugees who are not allowed by IND to stay in the Netherlands.
In the training program there is room for “mourning” and we also work with young people on redeveloping future prospects.
The training program is a combination of sports activities (literally getting moving) and thinking assignments.
In this, SAMAH Foundation works with experts by experience who went through a similar process 10 years ago.
Move it Forward is a training program for young people between the ages of 18 and 25, who came to the Netherlands on their own as minors and have received a rejection from the IND?
In the training we work on developing future prospects, despite the situation.
We do not focus on where (the Netherlands or elsewhere), but on talent and ambitions.
What are young people good at, what talents do they have, what is their dream for the future and how can they achieve this as well as possible.

We would like to share the Move it Forward methodology with professionals in the field. Professionals who work with the target group unaccompanied minor asylum seekers or former unaccompanied minor asylum seekers who have exhausted all legal remedies or are in danger of exhausting all legal remedies and who want to work with them to create (new) perspectives for the future. With the support of the Kansfonds we therefore organize a train-the-trainer for professionals who work with the above target group.
